The short version. Without an account, what you log stays on your iPhone. With one, it's backed up so you can restore it. Your insights are worked out on your iPhone. When you choose to scan a receipt or a screenshot, the image is read by Anthropic's AI, Claude, and isn't kept. We don't sell your data, show ads, or use tracking or analytics tools.

What stays on your iPhone
Entries, goals, trips, categories, your streak and settings are stored on your phone. If you never sign in, none of it leaves the phone, and deleting the app deletes it. Reminders are scheduled on the phone too.
To convert currencies, the app downloads the day's exchange rates from ExchangeRate-API. That request doesn't include anything about you or your spending.
If you create an account
An account is optional. It's how your data follows you to a new phone and how you save with others. With one, we keep:
- Your name and email, from Sign in with Apple, Google, or a code sent to your email. With Apple you can hide your email; we then only see Apple's relay address.
- What you log: amounts and currencies, dates, places, categories, notes, goals and deposits, trips and events, your categories and your streak. It's stored with Supabase, our database provider, in the United States.
- If you allow notifications, your phone's push address, so updates from your group goals can reach you through Apple's notification service.
Sign-in codes are emailed through our email provider. We use your data only to run Colibrí for you: to back it up, restore it and sync it.
Group goals
When you join a group goal, its members see your name, what you put into that goal, and the goal's updates. They don't see anything else you log.
Trip snapshots
When you share a trip or some days, a copy of only what you chose to include is stored with us, and anyone with its code or link can open it. Stop sharing turns the code off for new people; anyone who already opened it keeps their copy. Notes, times and receipts are never included.
Scanning with AI
Scanning only happens when you choose it. The receipt or screenshot goes through our server to Anthropic, the maker of Claude, which reads the amounts, dates and places. We keep the entries it finds, not the image, and we count scans to apply limits. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, what we send isn't used to train its models. You're asked before your first scan.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or rent your data.
- There are no ads and no tracking or analytics tools in the app. If that ever changes, this page changes first.
- We don't connect to your bank or move money.
Your rights
You can see, correct, export and delete your data. Export is in You → Export, free. You → Delete account removes your account and everything stored with it from our servers; copies in routine database backups are overwritten after a short time. What's on your iPhone stays until you delete the app. For anything else, including your rights under the laws of the Dominican Republic or Mexico (access, correction, cancellation and objection), write to hola@getcolibriapp.com and we'll answer within 20 business days.
Children
Colibrí isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll say so in the app before it takes effect. The date at the top shows the latest version.
